Richard Young – Social Media Strategist & Marketer

Richard Young…who is he?

Great question! There are a lot of Richard Youngs out there. I’m not the famous British photographer nor am I an actor or a football player.  I’m an Indiana Hoosier who now calls New York City home. What I do is help public figures strategize and manage their online presence that creates bespoke storytelling opportunities through their social channels.  I’ve helped many actors, musicians, athletes, models, authors and podcasts evaluate their social presence and broaden reach organically.

Prior to that social media specialization, I started a successful online community based around musician John Mayer that amassed over 100m views, ran a music tastemaker consortium called FirstListen (think of it as a large online stream team for music artists) for 10 years and picked up experience working in artist management, at Columbia Records as a talent (A&R) scout and at TicketWeb (Ticketmaster / Live Nation) as an account manager.  I suppose you could say I started in the early aughts of social media before it had its current title.

When I do have a spare moment, I love to travel and have been to 50 countries as of now (my favorite is Switzerland). I do enjoy fitness, both strength training and running in particular.  I am an avid sports fan and unwaveringly support the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Indiana Pacers, and the Indiana Hoosiers. Lastly, I enjoy learning photography but would very much consider myself a novice at taking photos.

My background and experiences have been attributed to where I am and what I do today. I’m passionate about my work and have lived, breathed and studied social trends for over two decades. I could not be happier helping others in the capacity that I do now: a background social strategist supporting public figures.  I love what I do and truly cannot imagine doing anything else.
